Karger supports early career researchers with travel awards

Supporting the professional development of early career researchers is an important aim of Karger Publishers. In this spirit, our journal Neonatology is proud to grant two travel awards designed to cover registration and accommodation expenses to attend the IXth International Symposium Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine which will take place in Würzburg, Germany on October 1–3, 2021.

The IXth International Symposium Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine, organized by the Editor in Chief of Neonatology Prof. Christian Speer, is one of the largest scientific and educational conferences dedicated to the field of neonatology bringing prominent international neonatologists, scientists and clinicians together to define cutting-edge knowledge and identify
research gaps in neonatal medicine.
The winners of the Karger early career researcher travel awards are:

 

Lucia Časnocha Lúčanová, MD, PhD, is a pediatrician specializing in neonatology. She embarked on medical research as an undergraduate and was mentored by Prof. Mirko Zibolen. She is currently working at the NICU of the Neonatology Department at the University Hospital of Martin, Slovakia, whilst teaching neonatology and pediatrics at
Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin,
Comenius University in Bratislava.

 

 

Chris Faraday is a pediatrician with a strong interest in neonatology. He has recently relocated from Cambridge, UK to the Royal Maternity Hospital in Belfast. He has a background in medical research, an MSc in immunology, a BSc in biomedicine in addition to his MBBS from Kings College London.
